Diet For a New America with John Robbins – The Brain Health Revolution Podcast

In this episode, we had the great pleasure of interviewing the legendary John Robbins.

The only son of the founder of the Baskin-Robbins ice cream empire, John Robbins, was groomed to follow in his father’s footsteps but chose to walk away from Baskin-Robbins and the immense wealth it represented to “…pursue the deeper American Dream…the dream of a society at peace with its conscience because it respects and lives in harmony with all life forms. A dream of a truly healthy society, practicing wise and compassionate stewardship of a balanced ecosystem.”

Considered by many to be one of the most eloquent and powerful spokespersons in the world for a sane, ethical and sustainable future, John has been a featured and keynote speaker at major conferences sponsored by Physicians for Social Responsibility, Beyond War, Oxfam, the Sierra Club, the Humane Society of the United States, the United Nations Environmental Program, UNICEF, and many other organizations dedicated to creating a healthy, just, and sustainable way of life. He is the recipient of the Rachel Carson Award, the Albert Schweitzer Humanitarian Award, the Peace Abbey’s Courage of Conscience Award, and lifetime achievement awards from groups including Green America. When John spoke at the United Nations, he received a standing ovation.

  1. Thank you, Drs Dean & Ayesha, for the work you do. Following you for some time now, and very glad to see your reach and influence growing. Have a great 2023!

  2. Food as grown is the natural way to eat. Processed food is not natural and causes death.
Christ Crucified for your sin is the only way to Salvation.

  3. Thank you doctors for this episode! You guys are so caring. Thank you for all your time spent helping us. You’re two quality people 😊 And John, a true gentle man. I’ve read his books, and your books as well. Thank you again. Peace be with you always 🙏

  4. Thank you so much for making this podcast!
I watched "Diet for a New America" about 30 years ago,
I had been mostly vegetarian for many years,
I decided to go vegan in 2020,
Now, I’m experiencing the best of my entire life.
Thank you so much for Mr. Robbins’s work for humanity! 😍
    大約 30 年前我看過《新美國的飲食》,
    我決定在 2020 年成為素食主義者,

  5. I always enjoy hearing John Robbins. In 1978 (I think that was the year) my first ‘real job’ was at a Baskin Robbins store. My favorite flavors were rainbow sherbet and chocolate chip. I’m still friends with my boss from all those years ago thanks for Facebook. Years later I worked at Blue Bell, an ice cream company out of Texas. Mr. Robbins sounds very level-headed I’ve enjoyed watching the video of Diet for a new America on YouTube a couple of times, and I always enjoy hearing the Sherzais. They have been a great help to me. Excellent interview and presentation.

  6. I have listened to many, many interviews with Dean & Ayesha Sherzai – and every time I learn something new about them & what they teach! I especially loved this one with John Robbins… all of three of them so gentle, articulate, and informative. I don’t think I’ve ever heard John Robbins speak so openly about his life experience. And I loved hearing “a book can be a family” 😁
The discussion around hope put me in mind of Jane Goodall, another beautiful & optimistic human being. Thank you all for this. ❤️

  7. Don’t be afraid to lose your tribe. Find a tribe that aligns with your values! My take away from these wonderful teachers!

  8. Wow this was a beautiful interview. So much love. I could listen to all three of you all day.

  9. Wow… I am new to this guy and I love his message! Thanks so much for sharing! By the way, I am loving the book. You guys rock!❤

  10. THIS IS EXCELLENT!!! Your guys method of interviewing this legend is so appreciated you allowed him to really tell his story..THANK YOU🙏

  11. Like Dean Ornish, John Robbins sees the big picture and makes all the connections. I feel great respect and admiration.

  12. Lovely interview. I love hearing what all of you have to say. I just don’t have that hope for the future I am sorry to say. There is an awakening to this information but it is just too slow. I only have to look at the popularity of the carnivore diet, when all the information about the massive bigger picture benefits of a plant based diet are freely available, to despair. I love your work. Thank you for all you are doing.
